Northern Ireland Audit Office celebrates Diversity Mark Re-Accreditation

Diversity Mark is delighted to congratulate Northern Ireland Audit Office on achieving the Diversity Mark Accreditation, recognising its strong and ongoing commitment to advancing equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across the organisation.

The Diversity Mark Accreditation is awarded following a robust independent assessment process and recognises organisations that can demonstrate measurable progress in embedding EDI within their culture, policies and practices. The Northern Ireland Audit Office’s submission reflected meaningful action and clear ambition to build an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive.

Andrea Quinn, representing the NI Audit Office EDI Committee, commented:

I am absolutely delighted to accept the Diversity Mark Accreditation on behalf of Northern Ireland Audit Office and the work that the EDI committee put into achieving this for the organisation… Having this Accreditation means that we have now something to base our work within the [EDI] committee, we have a really strong footing, we have targets to work towards that will help us grow as a [EDI] committee and as an organisation in the field of EDI.

The Northern Ireland Audit Office plays a vital role in supporting accountability and good governance across the public sector. Achieving the Diversity Mark Accreditation highlights its commitment to ensuring that these values are reflected internally through inclusive practices, fair opportunities and a supportive workplace culture.

Christine White, Director of Diversity Mark, said:

We’re delighted to see the continued commitment of such a progressive organisation to building a positive, inclusive workplace that benefits employees and contributes to wider societal impact.

As the organisation continues its EDI journey, the Northern Ireland Audit Office will build on this achievement by further strengthening its approach to inclusion, supported by clear targets and a strong foundation established through the accreditation process.

This milestone reflects both the dedication of the EDI Committee and the wider organisation in fostering a culture where diversity is valued and inclusion is embedded in everyday practice.

A huge congratulations to the Northern Ireland Audit Office on this fantastic achievement.
