Guidance from the Equality Coalition: How allies can support friends, colleagues and communities during racist and Islamophobic violence

We are very grateful to our Independent Assessor, Dr Nazia Latif,  PhD and the Equality Coalition for developing and sharing this thoughtful, timely guide on how allies can support during racist violence.

It provides clear, practical actions that individuals and organisations can take to support colleagues and communities experiencing racism and Islamophobia, grounded in care, solidarity and responsibility. We encourage everyone in our community to engage with and share this resource at this critical time.

The guidance covers:

– Showing solidarity through practical support

– Taking civic and political action

– Challenging misinformation and disinformation

– Supporting reporting where appropriate

– Speaking with children and young people
